BBC Radio Gloucestershire is looking for two Journalists and two Journalism Coordinators to join the team. These are exciting roles, offering superb opportunities to join a successful radio station where the community is at the heart of our output.

As part of the team at BBC Radio Gloucestershire you’ll work in both on-air and off-air roles. Everyone plays their part in reporting and producing and bulletin reading across the week so this is a great opportunity to develop your skills portfolio. You’ll have a passion for all news platforms, especially the medium of radio. You’ll have experience of working in a newsroom either on a casual or contract basis. You must have strong organisational, influencing, persuading, and communication skills; as well as a keen ear for great radio. The ideal candidate will be also be able to think on their feet and put plans into action quickly. An understanding of the local radio audience is highly desirable. Working effectively within a team, and acting on your own initiative, are both key qualities.
This is an exciting and fun role where no two days are the same. Our Journalism Coordinators work on fast-paced shows like breakfast, so you must be able to work under pressure and be good with people. You’ll also have the opportunity to get involved with production, live reporting, events and social media. A desire to learn a number of new skills and get stuck in where needed is highly desirable. Detailed knowledge of the county is not a requirement, but a willingness to get to know the patch quickly is important. A good broadcast voice is an advantage, as is having a full driving licence (or a plan to get one quickly). You’ll be a radio enthusiast with a passion for the medium. You must have strong organisational, influencing & persuading, and communication skills, as well as a keen ear for great radio.
