New Zealand Community Access Radio

It’s always useful to get a perspective from community media across the world. Dr Matt Mollgaard has shared a link for a report he was commissioned to write by NZ On Air, the New Zealand independent government funding agency delivering quality and diverse New Zealand public media. Matt suggests that:

Community radio has a 30-year history in New Zealand and operates in one of the most commercial media environments in the world. That said, we have many of the same issues as other countries grappling with where community radio fits in the media ecology and how to sustain it. Digital change is driving new challenges for community radio here too. Some might find my review of community radio in New Zealand helpful - it was commissioned by the government media funding body NZ on Air and grapples with some of the big issues as well has taking a fine-grain view of individual stations:
