Community Media & the Wellbeing Agenda

Spurred on by Scotland, a small group of countries has formed the Wellbeing Economy Alliance. The hope is that governments putting wellbeing at the centre of their agenda will redirect their budgets accordingly. For example, a New Zealand government focused on wellbeing would direct more of its attention and resources to childhood poverty.

Can we plug community radio and community media into the growing movement for wellbeing and the wider social sector? There is a challenge for all of us to reach out and connect to our counterparts and equivalents and join the dots between apparently disparate organisations working for positive social outcomes.

How can this collective activity be documented, recorded, disseminated, and broadcast? Community media could be the glue that facilitates this movement to communicate to itself and to the wider world.
