The Community Media Conference is coming home! This year we are gathering at The Workstation in Sheffield where the Community Media Association has been located for over 20 years! Join us on Saturday 15th September for a wonderful day of learning, sharing and celebrating.
This year we are calling out to the next generation of leaders in community media, to help us shape a conference that is relevant to all. How can we make sure our work continues for decades to come? Why does ‘community’ matter in the age of social media? And how can all community media organisations make sure young people have a voice? Let’s celebrate some of the amazing media created by children and young people, and learn from one another about how to create engaging, creative and sustainable projects for all in our communities.
And do you know a young person aged between 18 and 25, who is doing wonderful things in community media, and would like to help us shape and plan this year’s Conference? Ask them to get in touch with us by 15th April by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
This year’s conference is looking really exciting - remember to book soon if you haven’t yet done so, and take advantage of our early bird ticket price.
Also we have some FREE tickets available for young people under 25 who are passionate about community media - they just need to complete this short survey:
Great to be in Sheffield this year, close to the CMA office, Sheffield Live, and a vibrant, progressive city that is full of interesting places and people.
Our conference this year has been shaped by a group of young curators and promises to have a fresh and exciting feel.
However we haven’t strayed far from our tried and tested format of stimulating talks, informative workshops, and best of all the chance for community media people to come together, learn from one another and share our successes and frustrations.
Really looking forward to seeing everyone in Sheffield this September!
